Beatles cover: Everybody's Got Something To Hide Except Me & My Monkey

Recorded in the early 1990s in our Poughkeepsie brownstone studios, this Lyn Faber release has only been previously available on the limited cassette issue of Songs For Boys And Girls (1994). All performance and production by Lyndon Lorenz: Two tracks of electric on the BC Rich; bass on the Rickenbacker 4003; drum programming on the Roland TR707; and double-tracked vocal (miked on an Audio Technica AT41), all laid into 4-track cassette on a Fostex X30.

But jeez: reworking the old tapes twenty years later was a pain in the neck! And any signal degradation you might hear is an inherent result of the original medium, as well as a hallmark of the now-outdated technology that gave this piece its initial birth.

It certainly couldn't have been done without that Prelinger Archive, who provided the free public-domain source footage; this time from a bunch of spoofy clips out of the Calvin Workshop:

-- How Much (1960) for the monologue guy, and the clips about budgeting

-- The Vicious Circle, or What Are We Trying to Do? (1964) for the copywriter at the meeting

-- #BflO{ggGX=STwWcflx2s4 (1963) for all the monkeys

…plus snippets from American Look (1958); Chevrolet Leader News (Vol. 5, No. 2, 1939); and Exercise For Health (1949)
